Spring + Gold Paint

Hello! For the past few months I've been stuck in a cycle of starting a painting, not liking the painting, and scrapping the painting. Finally, I'm getting back into a productive groove. Thanks to gold paint... and tons of flowers.

Though I tried to keep a limited color palette of greens, gold and splashes of orange, the painting took on a life of it's own; as they usually do.

Here's another painting I'm working on:

She'll be looking at a butterfly or moth.
Like the painting before, there's a lot of gold in the background.

I've been trying to create more texture in my work,

In the gif I'm trying to resist smoothing out all the paint. Will experiment with this.

And more flowers,

Thanks for looking!

Mandala Coloring Book

Currently I'm putting together a coloring book made mostly from Inktober 2018 drawings. This year, I've been looking at ways of making my art more interactive and it was during this last summer that I thought of coloring books.

Above is a shot of my fox mandala drawing before and after it's been cleaned up.

Also I thought the process of pulling the original scan away from the clean digital drawing looked pretty cool :) So here it is.

Thanks for looking.

2018, So Far

Today is my 26th birthday, time to reflect :)!
I painted A LOT this year. I learned a lot, too.
This year I deleted all my social media accounts... for reasons I think you can probably guess.
You can still view my old work on my retired tumblr blog, Beware it's not very organized.
(That's tumblr for you, HA!)
It may be a while for me to post regularly here because I'm taking some much needed time away from technology, but I plan to make this my main posting spot.
Thanks for looking at my blog and I'll post again soon!
